Benchmark Process Steam Usage and Energy Cost Allocation

4 BENCHMARK PROCESS STEAM USAGE AND ENERGY COST ALLOCATION [Pg.394]

FIGURE 18.3. Steam system used as an example for cost allocation. [Pg.394]

TABLE 18.3. Overall Steam and Power Cost Summary [Pg.395]

It is necessary to differentiate between steam costs for users with and without condensate recovery. It is expensive for condensate lost due to the need for makeup water, water treatment, and preheating, which costs the same as the BFW, that is.  [Pg.395]

With steam costs adjusted based on the statues of condensate recovery, energy cost allocation for four cost centers is established as shown in Table 18.7. Total steam and power costs are the same as the overall billing in Table 18.3 with negligible discrepancy. Thus, the overall cost is allocated for all cost centers to share the energy  [Pg.395]
