Beginning of time

The study of hydraulics deals with the use and characteristics of liquids and gases. Since the beginning of time, man has used fluids to ease his burden. Earliest recorded history shows that devices such as pumps and water wheels were used to generate useable mechanical power. 

A particular hazard, which has been with humans since the beginning of time, is the radioactive isotope potassium-40 (K-40). Less than 1% of all potassium atoms on Earth are in the form of this radioactive isotope. It has a half-life of 1.25 billion years. Its decay process... 

Natural products appear to have been used to cure illnesses almost since the beginning of time. Possibly tbe oldest known recipes for sucb cures are found on a set of 660 clay tablets from tbe Mesopotamian civilization dating to tbe third millennium b.c.e. These tablets contain a list of more than a thousand plants used for medicinal purposes. 

The code used by the plumber for the bath taps is precisely opposite to the astronomer s rule of thumb. Between the artisan and the astronomer, Goethe chose the first. For him, and for all artists since the beginning of time, blue has been associated with what is spiritually cold. In his Theory of Colours Zur Farbenlehre, 1810), he wrote that blue expresses a purely empirical psychological impression of cold. There are now numerous animal models for clinical pain states such as inflammation and neuropathies, and these models have shown that several transmitter systems which have minor actions in acute pains can play important roles in more persistent pains.

Let us not become so preoccupied with nonexistent threats that the next century becomes the final one.
