BECOME A CONSULTANT

A consultant provides technical or professional services to a client for a fee. As a consultant, you are free to work as much or as little as you wish. You work on a per-project basis, removed from the daily stress of a regular job. Meanwhile, you are able to continue using your skills. This makes consulting very appealing to retirees. [Pg.97]

Many consultants get started by working for their former employer. They then expand their practice by adding other companies in their field—often companies that are suppliers or clients of their former employer. This is a logical extension of their background and an excellent way to use their experience. [Pg.97]

If you are seriously considering consulting, make sure your capabilities are compatible with the requirements of the job.
