The term Bayesian comes from Thomas Bayes, an 18th-century Presbyterian minister, who wrote An Essay Towards Solving a Problem in the Doctrine of Chances. Although oysters and clams do accumulate residues of 2,4-D, the rates of elimination are such that they would cleanse themselves of the herbicide before the normal harvest season.
