Exhibit 13-28 shows a typical hydrant installation. Proper drainage of the hydrant barrel after the hydrant is closed is esser ial to prevent freezing in cold climates. Drainage is provided by crushed stone around the base of the hydrant and oaending above the lower barrel flange. The amount of aushed stoiK required depends on the nature of the soil. Spherical bearings are usually furnished in a doublerow mounting that is inherently self-aligning. Both rows of rollers have a common spherical outer raceway. The rollers are barrel-shaped with one end smaller to provide a small thrust to keep the rollers in contact with the center guide flange. 

Muzzle Brake. (Freins de bouche in Fr, M lin-dungsbremse in Ger). A cylindrical device with flanged or baffled surfaces which is attached to the muzzle of a gun, usually by threads, to offset a long or complete recoil of the gun when fired. The expanding proplnt gases strike the baffles, thus pushing the gun barrel forward. This action can shorten the actual recoil distance, or it may relieve an overloaded recoil system. The latter would occur when a conventional gun was deliberately overloaded to increase the projectile velocity...

Against the forces exerted by the melt flow, the screen packs are backed by a thick, densely perforated steel disk called a breaker plate. The outer rims of the breaker plate and of the screen pack fit into a round recess in the end of the extruder barrel and are clamped in place by the adapter flange of the adjoining piece of equipment, usually that of the extrusion die. To change a clogged screen pack, the die adapter flange has to be removed, the old pack taken out and replaced with a new one, and the equipment reassembled. 

A sleeve approximately 8" long is turned and threaded on each end. One end will screw into the outer end of the barrel coupling. The end cap screws onto the other end, the flanged portions supporting and securing the outer...
