Auxiliary stabilizers

Germans proposed using cyanamide, di-cyandiamine or tricyandiamine as auxiliary stabilizers in their propints (Ref 44, p 251)... [Pg.150]

NOSIL A-57 is a non-silicate peroxide stabilizer suitable for use over a wide pH range and temperature range. It is also effective in a wide range of caustic and peroxide concentrations. In certain cases, it has been shown to be effective in concentrations as low as 5% on the weight of 50% peroxide, when used alone. Possibly, even less may be needed when auxiliary stabilizers or chelates are employed. However, NOSIL A-57 is formulated especially to allow for reduction in the amounts of auxiliary stabilizing and/or sequestering agents needed. [Pg.624]

With Miscellaneous Compounds. Several mechanistic studies have been performed recently on reactions of "auxiliary stabilizers with 4-chloro-2-hexene, both in the presence and in the absence of metal salts (82,87,88, 89,90). The stabilizers used were phosphites (82,87), phosphines (82,87), epoxides (88), 2-phenylindole (89), and the bis(j8-aminocrotonate) ester of 1,4-butanediol (90). Important mechanistic features delineated in this work included substitutive removal of allylic... [Pg.322]

By means of computer calculations, an attempt has been made to analyze a set of experimental stabilization data in order to extract the individual rate constants for various reactions that may occur during stabilization with metal salts (III). Ethyl j3-aminocrotonate, a representative of an auxiliary stabilizer type, has been shown to react with a model allylic halide (l-bromo-2-butene) via alkylation on C- rather than nitrogen (112). [Pg.325]

In the process of suspension polymerization one uses different additives modifying the action of protective colloid and supporting some shortcomings characterizing the given colloid. These additives, known also as auxiliary stabilizers of suspension, improve the hydrophilic-hydrophobic balance of colloid and adjust the surface tension at the interface monomer-water. [Pg.331]

Using this copolymer as an auxiliary stabilizer next to the product of oxyethylation and alkylphenol gives a polymer with a porous structure and a homogeneous grain. [Pg.332]

Other, removable cation-stabilizing auxiliaries have been investigated for polyene cyclizations. For example, a sdyl-assisted carbocation cyclization has been used in an efficient total synthesis of lanosterol. The key step, treatment of (257) with methyl aluminum chloride in methylene chloride at —78° C, followed by acylation and chromatographic separation, affords (258) in 55% yield (two steps). When this cyclization was attempted on similar compounds that did not contain the C7P-silicon substituent, no tetracycHc products were observed. Steroid (258) is converted to lanosterol (77) in three additional chemical steps (225). [Pg.442]

Auxiliary air cupboards have many problems, most of which have been reported in the literature. A main problem that does not receive much attention is coordination of the flow into the opening controlled by the exhaust with the supply flow directed down immediately above the opening. This includes the complex and simultaneous relationships between velocities, flow rates, flow widths, flow directions, flow stability, turbulence, and temperatures. To this should be added the same problems that exist for normal fume cupboards, such as necessary exhaust flow rate and velocity, flow pattern inside the cupboard, working procedures, and the influence of people on the flow pattern outside and into the opening. The auxiliary air outlet may also be a source of noise. [Pg.993]

The bulk of enamine studies since Stork s original publication have focused on establishing the breadth and limitations of individual substitution reactions and on extending the list of useful electrophiles. In addition, auxiliary studies have enriched our knowledge about the ambident nature of the vinyl nitrogen system, stereoelectronic factors governing its reactivity, its stability and spectroscopic properties. An increasing number of synthetic applications of these fundamental studies can be expected in future years. [Pg.314]

Diallyl Phthalate (DAP, DAIP) Powder Excellent humidity resistance. Withstands temperatures over 400 F. Easily processed. Dimensional stability excellent. May be compression, transfer and injection molded. Low cost. Precision potentiometers, RF connectors, waveguide auxiliaries, attenuators, heating panels, heated battery cases. [Pg.390]

Stability of scheme (86)-(87) with zero boundary conditions is asserted by Theorem 3 in Section 11, due to which a. solution of the auxiliary problem... [Pg.640]

An 8-phenylmenthol ester was employed as the chiral auxiliary to achieve enantioselectivity in the synthesis of prostaglandin precursors.83 The crucial features of the TS are the anti disposition of the Lewis acid relative to the alcohol moiety and a tt stacking with the phenyl ring that provides both stabilization and steric shielding of the a-face. [Pg.500]

Steric stabilization is particularly useful and widely applied during emulsification processes. One major advantage compared to electrostatic stabilization is the relative insensitivity towards added electrolytes. An auxiliary effect promoting dispersion stability is the significant viscosity increase of the dispersion medium. [Pg.252]

Breslow demonstrated the catalytic effect of having not only a Lewis acid zinc center but also an auxiliary catalytic center held in close, but non-binding, proximity. An imidazole or thiophenol (81) demonstrated increase in effectiveness in cyclization of a phosphate derivative.706,707 Pyridine pendents on this macrocycle gave a stability for zinc in line with the Irving Williams series for two pyridine and three pyridine pendents.708 A contrast was noted with other metals (Ni, Cu, Cd, Pb, Fe, and In), all of which increase in stability with three pendent arms as does zinc this was attributed to coordination preferences. [Pg.1207]
