Approval planning

The authority approval provides a secure legal basis for the erection and operation of process plants. In the approval process, the legitimate interests of the public-i.e. the public in general, the neighbours of the plant to be erected in particular, and the employees of the operating company-as weU as the issues of the plant operator are examined.

In 1986, six states (California, Kentucky, Louisianan, Maryland, North Carolina, and South Carolina) had fully U.S. EPA-approved plans to control TRS at kraft pulp mills, two states had approved TRS standards but their compliance schedules had not yet been approved (Arkansas and Georgia), and... 

Iceland s potential to generate power from hydroelectric dams is also considerable because of the country s large area of mountainous terrain, glacial melt, and reliable precipitation. Hydroelectric plants in the country currently have a capacity of approximately 1,000 mw12 and supply more than 6.8 million Mwh per year of electricity.13 In March 2003, Iceland approved plans for an Alcoa Inc. aluminum smelter and a 630 mw hydroelectric facility to provide power for this very electricity-intensive process.14 This decision has encountered opposition from environmental groups because the resulting reservoir will flood land in an undeveloped wilderness area.

Conversely, on a reimbursable-plus-percent-fee contract, the contractor could overstaff and/or pay overtime in the name of schedule compliance. Other issues that may concern Regulators are when a precedent is being set. It is possible that the precedent set by one particular Rx-to-OTC switch could be damaging in terms of their overall policy, even when they have relatively little concern about the switch itself this may be the reason for hesitancy shown in approving Plan B , a proposed OTC product for emergency contraception by the US FDA. Careful negotiation is called for. The corollary is that if your proposed Rx-to-OTC switch can be shown to follow some sort of precedent, then your road with the regulators will be smoother. 

As well as assisting in the review process, the Editorial Advisory Board helps set editorial policy and approve plans for new content or major update.

Accordingly, Process Assurance should have a level of independence from the development process and is typically performed by the QA Department, who provide the Senior Management Team (SMT) with objective feedback regarding compliance to approved plans, procedures, standards, and analyses. 

Process assurance activities are performed throughout the lifecycle, including product conception, design, implementation, operation, and maintenance. It aims to detect, record, evaluate, approve, track and resolve deviations from approved plans and procedures. For each lifecycle phase, process assurance makes sure that planning is performed, that the plan is followed, and that the products of each phase are correct and complete.
