A CD-ROM is attached containing a teaching course of Mossbauer spectroscopy (ca. 300 ppt frames), a selection of examples of applications of Mossbauer spectroscopy in various fields (ca. 500 ppt frames), review articles on computation and interpretation of Mossbauer parameters using modem quantum-mechanical methods, list of properties of isotopes relevant to Mossbauer spectroscopy, appendices refering to book chapters, and the first edition of this book which appeared in 1978. In accordance with Article 7a of the WHG, the AbwV (Ordinance on Requirements for the Discharge of Wastewater into Waters - Wastewater Ordinance) has been divided into a general framework section, an annex (to Article 4) with analytical methods for parameter determination and sector-specific appendices, including requirements for 53 wastewater sectors [3], Minimum requirements to be stipulated when granting a permit to discharge wastewater are described, analysis and measurement techniques are specified in the annex and sector-specific requirements in the appendices refer to the analysis and measurement techniques specified in the annex. Article 4 of the AbwV, in conjunction with the annex, lists the analysis and measurement procedures that are to be used to determine the parameters defined in the appendices. Paragraph 2 emphasises that for individual cases other equivalent procedures may be required if compliance with the requirements specified in the ordinance is to be ensured [9]. All analysis and determination procedures are standardised methods (DIN, CEN, ISO). 

After submitting the manuscript some interesting new results were published, the most important of which are presented here. Less relevant contributions are not specifically mentioned. They are all listed in the Appendix References (420-433) and referred to by number herein. 

Some constraints must be added to this procedure, as for instance, in rule 6 which refers to the presence of chiral centres in newly generated appendages or side-chains, and also some extensions, for example the appendix referring to the presence of nucleophilic heteroatoms. 

This appendix refers to Ref.210 as far as the interaction-free situation is concerned and to Ref.3 if fast internal defect interactions are to be included. 

The Appendix referred to contains Southern s letter to Watt on the steam experiments that he and William Creighton conducted in 1803. From measurements of the elasticity and density of steam, Southern stated that These results appear to support the conclusion that the density of steam is nearly if not accurately, proportional to its elasticity. And subsequently he states The opinion which I entertain from these experiments as to the latent heat of steam is,...

Other averages for boiling points are used in evaluating K and the other physical properties in this Appendix. (Refer to Danbert or Maxwell S for details.) This factor has been related to many of the other simple tests and properties of petroleum fractions, such as viscosity, molecular weight, critical temperature, and percentage of hydrogen, so that it is quite easy to estimate the factor for any particular sample. Furthermore, tables of the UOP characterization factor are available for a wide variety of common types of petroleum fractions as shown in Table K.l for typical liquids.
