Antiplatelet aggregation

No recommendation is made about the urgent administration of other antiplatelet aggregating agents (grade C evidence). 

In the Philippines, the sap expressed from the stem is drunk to alleviate headache. Using antiplatelet aggregation as a guide to fractionation, Chen et al. isolated a series of aporphines including actinodaphnine, N-methylactinodaphnine, launobine, dicentrine, O-methylbulbocapnine, hernovine, bulbocapnine, and oxoaporphines dicentrinone and liriodenine were isolated from the stems of I. luzonensis (13). 

Related work described the synthesis of pyrrolo[3,2-c] azepines (eg. 25) as 5-HT2 antagonists and their antiplatelet aggregation activity .

However, while an adequate platelet number appears to be a necessary requirement for metastasis formation, since induction of thrombocytopenia is associated with a decrease in metastases number (Gasic et al., 1968, 1973 Karpatkin et al., 1988), there is considerable controversy regarding the effects of antiplatelet aggregating agents on metastases formation (Karpatkin et al., 1988, 1991). Therefore, a different approach was taken in delineating the mechanism of platelet requirement in tumor metastasis, directing attention to adhesion of tumor cells to activated platelets and platelet adhesive proteins (Karpatkin et al., 1988 Nierodzik et al., 1991,... 

Resveratrol [2], 3,4 ,5-trihydroxy-rra/ A-stilbene, is a phytoalexin found in grapes and other plants, that exhibits a variety of biological activities, including antileukemic, antibacterial, antifungal, anti antiplatelet aggregation, coronary vasodilator. Recently, it has been shown to induce apoptosis and decrease expression of Bcl-2 in the human leukaemia HL-60 cell line. 

Stilbenoids from the roots of Vitis thunbergii displayed strong antiplatelet activity, such as (-)-viniferal (771), ampelopsin C, miyabenol A and (+)-vitisin C (700) [245]. Marchantinquinone exerted antiplatelet effects by inhibiting phosphoinositide turnover [514]. Antiplatelet aggregation activities have also been reported for piceid [390,515], rhaponticin [515] gigantol, moscatilin, scoparone and scopoletin [92].
