In comparison with other thermoplastics, polyamides have superior mechanical properties, vibration and chemical resistance, and high dielectric properties. The superior antifrictional characteristics of cast PA-6 allow us to use it for bearings instead of bronze, cast iron, steel, babbit, reinforced phenolic compounds, and other materials. 

The crown-ether compounds as boundary lubricants and antioxidation additives. On the sliding surface, bromobenzo-15-crown-5 coordinates with ferrous ions and forms a strong reaction layer which protects the underlying metal surface. In the base stock solution, the crown ring can capture the metal ions which catalyze the oxidation of oil formulation (Brois and Gutierrez, 1987, 1989, 1992 and 1994 Le Suer and Norman, 1965 and 1966 Moreton, 1998). Bromobenzo-15-crown has excellent antiwear, antifriction and antioxidation properties, better than the ZDDP tested. 

Ternary mixtures show enhanced antifriction and antiwear properties of Mo compounds (Lin, 1995). 

Further examples reported in Table 40 arc given by the alkyl ketone moieties deriving from oxidation of polyenes, which arc subjected to Mannich aminomethylation in order to produce compounds 559 having dispersant properties for lubricating oils, by benzotriazoles 557, capable of forming, due to physical adsorption, thin layers over the surfaces subjected to friction, and by S-Mannich bases 558, combining antifriction and antioxidant properties. 

However, the further expansion of areas of their application attributes to the creation of new, more perfect compounds with required operational characteristics such, as electric and heat conductivity at high indicators of physic mechanical and antifriction properties.
