Haven t you ever heard of type casting he wrote back. 

Coupling is introduced when one piece of a design mentions another by name another class, another procedure or method, a variable in another class, or even (heaven forfend) a global variable. Explicit mentions of other classes may come in parameter or variable declarations in type casts when objects are created explictly of a particular class and when one class inherits from another.

Dry-type transformers are typically installed indoors and include ventilated, sealed, or gas filled, totally enclosed non-ventilated, and cast coil types. Cast coil transformers are the most expensive and they have the highest overload capability. Transformers should be sized based on their air to air (AA) rating. Provisions for future automatic fans that will provide a higher force air (FA) rating and an alarm that indicates when the fans are operating due to the temperature within the transformer should be provided. 

Hence, quite aside from the injustice which stereotypes do to others, they impoverish ourselves. A person who lumps the world into simple categories, who type-casts all labor leaders as racketeers, all businessmen as reactionaries, all Harvard men as snobs, and all Frenchmen as sexy, is in danger of becoming a stereotype himself. He loses his capacity to be himself—which is to say, to see the world in his own absolutely unique, inimitable and independent fashion. 

Impoverishing as they are, stereotypes are not easy to get rid of. The world we type-cast may be no better than a Grade B movie, but at least we know what to expect of our stock characters. When we let them act for themselves in the strangely unpredictable way that people do act, who knows but that many of our fondest convictions will be proved wrong ... 

Most of the time, when we type-cast the world, we are not in fact generalizing about people at all. We are only revealing the embarrassing facts about the pictures that hang in the gallery of stereotypes in our own heads.

The major contribution to the study of the social typing process itself comes from the interactionist or transactional approach to deviance. The focus here is on how society labels rule-breakers as belonging to certain deviant groups and how, once the person is thus type cast, his acts are Interpreted in terms of the status to which he has been assigned. It is to this body of theory that we must turn for our major orientation to the study of both moral panics and social types.
