Rasagiline Antidepressants

Neither selegiline nor rasagiline should be taken by patients receiving meperidine. They should be used with care in patients receiving tricyclic antidepressants or serotonin reuptake inhibitors because of the theoretical risk of acute toxic interactions of the serotonin syndrome type (see Chapter 16), but this is rarely encountered in practice. The adverse effects of levodopa may be increased by these drugs.

Clinically important, potentially hazardous interactions with aminophylline, amiodarone, antacids, antineoplastics, arsenic, bepridil, bismuth, bismuth subsalicylate, bretylium, calcium salts, cocoa, didanosine, disopyramide, duloxetine, erythromycin, iron, magnesium salts, meptazinol, methylxanthines, NSAIDs, phenothiazines, procainamide, quinidine, rasagiline, sotalol, sucralfate, tizanidine, tricyclic antidepressants, zinc... 

Clinically important, potentially hazardous interactions with acyclovir, alcohol, amphetamines, barbiturates, CNS depressants, fluoxetine, furazolidone, general anesthetics, glycopyrrolate, glycopyrronium, isocarboxazid, linezolid, lithium, MAO inhibitors, moclobemide, phenelzine, phenobarbital, phenothiazines, rasagiline, ritonavir, selegiline, sibutramine, SSRIs, tranquilizers, tranylcypromine, tricyclic antidepressants, val acyclovir... 

If the decision is made to combine selegiline and any ofthe tricyclic antidepressants, the outcome should be well monitored, but the likelihood of problems seems to be small. Nevertheless, some manufacturers of selegiline advise avoiding the combination of tricyclic antidepressants and selegiline. - Similarly, the manufacturers of rasagiline advise caution if it is given with antidepressants. ... 

Limited evidence suggests that trazodone is unlikely to interact with selegiline. However, interactions with other antidepressants are rare. Therefore if trazodone is given with either selegiline or rasagiline some caution would seem prudent.
