Antibodies endothelial cell targeting

Generate therapeutic antibodies to target Ap for destruction, similar to the example of Herceptin s mechanism of action but it may be difficult to deliver large protein molecules across the blood-brain barrier of the tightly packed endothelial cells.

Additionally, the blood-brain barrier can be overcome when molecules that are highly expressed by brain capillary endothelial cell membranes (e.g., transferrin) are targeted by specific antibodies as reported by Pardridge et al.
