Anaphylactoid purpura

Hypersensitivity Anaphylactoid purpura, anaphylaxis, angioneurotic edema, myocarditis, pericarditis, polyarthralgia, pulmonary infiltrates with eosinophilia, systemic lupus erythematous exacerbation, urticaria hypersensitivity syndrome (cutaneous reaction, eosinophilia, and one or more of the following Hepatitis, pneumonitis, nephritis, myocarditis, pericarditis, fever, lymphadenopathy). Cox et al. (1973) describe a case of lethal necrotizing angiitis after sulfadi-methoxine therapy which took on the appearance of anaphylactoid purpura. Even after 2 years of local treatment with silver sulfadiazine cream, two patients developed leukopenia, which receded 1-2 days after stopping the cream (Chan et al. 1976 Fraser and Beanlien 1979). [Pg.524]
