Analytical preparative-scale batch chromatographs

Analytical preparative-scale batch chromatographs will satisfactorily separate and isolate individual components from mixtures in amounts sufficient for tentative identification or structural elucidation (spectroscopic and C, H, N analysis  [Pg.94]

1-100 mg). This instrumentation is adapted from analytical apparatus. Preparative--scale batch chromatographs operate with gram-scale samples, and can be used for research and development purposes. Only a few, specially designed, instruments are coinraercially available. [Pg.94]

Analytical preparative-scale batch chromatographs are widely used. For analytical preparative operation on columns up to about 10 mm or more in diameter, one can use analytical instruments designed specifically for this purpose. The following components should be adapted to the preparative specifications of large analytical columns reservoir, pump, sample introduction device, detector and outlet. [Pg.94]

Reservoir. The reservoir, tube connections and pump must guarantee the flow--rate required. This flow-rate should be variable between 1 and 100/rain for columns up to 2 cm in diameter. [Pg.94]

A very Important part of a preparative apparatus is the pump. The flow--rates required should be achieved with a constancy of flow for high efficiency and high throughput rates, this is also necessary at inlet pressures of up to ZOO bar. Pumps that meet these requirements are listed in Table I. [Pg.94]
