Amylopectin sulfate

Sodium Amylosulfate. Sul fated potato amylopec-tin sodium salt sodium amylopectin sulfate SN-263 De-papsen. This product has substantially 1.6 sulfate groups per glucose unit and a mo] wt of 2.0-8.0 x 10 and contains 15-16.5% of sulfur. Prepn P, S. Camarata, S. Etch, Belg, pat. 645,762 corresp to U.S, pat. 3,271,308 (1964, 1966 to Searle). [Pg.1356]

From the supernatant liquor, the amylopectin fraction was precipitated by adding sufficient magnesium sulfate to afford a total concentration of salt of 13.0% by wt. Allowing the precipitated amylopectin to remain in contact with the salt solution for 14 hours proved to be sufficient to make it perfectly insoluble in cold water. The amylopectin was then obtained in the dry state by the same technique used for the amylose precipitate. Po-tentiometric titration with iodine at 25.0° and measurement of the intrinsic viscosity at 25.00° were applied in order to characterize both fractions. [Pg.313]

Pepsin inhibitors, sulfated amylopectin (Depepsin),and carrageenin decrease acid secretion in experimental animals and protect animals against histamine-induced ulcers (265). They have to be studied further adequately to ascertain their therapeutic usefulness. [Pg.158]
