Perkin Medal.— The American Society of Chemical Industry established a medal known as The Perkin Medal the first impression of which was presented to Sir Wm. Perkin in person. The medal is now awarded annually to the American chemist who has contributed the most important work on industrial chemistry. The men who have been awarded the medal, up to 1921, are the following ... [Pg.745]

The American Society of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) is a technical society devoted to chemical engineering and associated technologies and issues. Many chemical engineers work in the chemical process industry. In 1985, AIChE established the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS). It was an industry response to the Bhopal, India, disaster (Case 24-1). It has become the center of expertise for process safety. It publishes many publications on process safety, and conducts conferences and training to advance process safety practices. [Pg.352]

Ernest LeSueur was a founding member of the American Society of Chemical Engineers (1908) and of the Canadian Institute of Chemistry (1920). He received the Canada Medal of the Canadian Section, Society of Chemical Industry, and that society established a medal in his honor. [Pg.530]
