Alkanes, tris synthesis

On the other hand, Tilley et al. have reported a synthesis of a well-defined tris(tert-butoxy)siloxy-iron(lll) complex [13] as well as respective molecular siloxide complexes of cobalt [14] and copper [15], which appear to become precursors for their grafting onto silica and application as catalysts for oxidation of alkanes, alkenes and arenes by hydrogen peroxide. [Pg.294]

The synthesis of Aziridinee by the addition of an aside to an alkane followed by pyrolysis of tho resulting tri zoline was first observed by WoLff 71- 8 (Eq. 10). Hie reaction is successful when... [Pg.541]

Promoters are normally incorporated in quantities less than 1%. Zinc is known as one of the most effective promoters for the direct synthesis methylchlorosilanes.33 Cadmium is known as one of the most effective promoters for the direct synthesis of tris(sila)alkanes,20 bis(chlorosilyl)methanes,22 and tris(chlorosilyl)methane.23 In the direct reaction of (dichloromethyl)silane 6b, the total amounts (percentages) of (trisilyl)methane.23 In the direct reaction of (dichloromethyl)silane 6b, the total amounts (percentages) of (trisilyl)methane products 7b-10b in the... [Pg.169]

The rationale for specific goals of this proposal is that the first step in new catalytic processes can be the availability of novel catalytic materials. Our initial focus has been to synthesize and characterize a variety of OMS and OL materials and scout out reactions that can be catalyzed by such systems. Catalytic oxidations with OMS and OL materials provide outstanding selectivity to terminal olefins and alcohols from alkanes. We have chosen to pursue these specific oxidations due to their importance in chemical synthesis and detergent applications, and to explore the fundamental reasons that such systems are highly active and selective. At the same time we have tried to limit our proposed synthetic efforts to a few new target OMS systems based on past experience. [Pg.69]
