Alignment pin

Figure 5.46 shows clearly how the application of potential changes the brightness and thus the workfunction O, of the grounded Pt catalyst-electrode (windows 2 and 3) and of the YSZ surface, (window 1), in accordance to the above discussed alignment (pinning) of the two Fermi levels.

An UV light beam, obtained with an intensity-regulated deuterium lamp and a narrow-slit monochromator, passed through the gas phase between two perfectly aligned pin holes mounted in front of the optical windows. An EMR 541-N PM tube, with an appropriate interference filter placed immediately before it, was used in conjunction with associated electronics to continuously monitor the UV intensity as a means of measuring changes in concentration of the reagent gas.

Graphics output can also be sent to a printer or plotter. Most of the cheaper printers are dot matrix printers in which the print head has a series of vertically aligned pins which press through a ribbon onto the paper. In most cases, these pins can be individually manipulated to produce pixel-like raster-ed output. The newer laser printers can produce graphics output of a very high quality, but special software is necessary to define the complex laser path for an entire sheet of paper. 

Stack the metallized parts in the exact order desired using alignment pins. Make sure that the tapes are stacked top surface to bottom surface, since there is some binder segregation in most tape-cast products, and this will prevent binder-poor side to binder-poor side bonding, which can cause delamination. 

Special Molds. Some molds may require a complicated design, inserts, and special machining. Alignment pins may be used to ensure a perfect fit. If a rotomolded article contains a large section where no resin buildup is desired, the mold can be shielded with an insulating material such as Teflon. 

The LPR probe should be installed perpendicular to the water flow in a representative water stream which is part of the piping system or at the end of the coupon test rack, as shown in Fig. 2. The probe must be installed such that water flows between the two electrodes in order to avoid fouling of the electrodes. An aligning pin at the male cable connector of the probe indicates the electrode position as shown in Fig. 2. The two electrodes should project into the flowing water, with the probe lead flush with the pipe wall as shown in Fig. 3.

Thermal expansion All parts (panel, funnel, neck, solder glass, and shadow mask metal alignment pins) must match fairly closely, 90 to 100 X 10 /°C. 

The external shape and sizes of the die inserts are standardized to fit all the basic mold bodies of the family. Likewise, the external screw holes and alignment pins on the mold bodies are standardized to fit the one configuration of base plates. Thus, the designer has the Level I and Level II designs always stored in a database, and one only has to design the interior of the cavity inserts and the exterior of the core inserts (Level III) to fit. This procedure saves design time, and manufacturing and assembly...
