Test coupons and racks

Five racks of test coupons were immersed in the spent fuel basin of the swimming pool research reactor at the CIAE. The rack numbers, the coupon materials and the immersion dates are listed in Table 7.1. The coupons were assembled in the rack to evaluate general corrosion, crevice attack and galvanic 

The coupons were assembled in the racks with clean surgical gloves in the order specified and according to the test protocol. The racks were photographed before and after immersion. The coupons of the first and the fifth rack were pretreated by washing in deionized water, scrubbing with grease
