Aggressive driving

So, if you can access the gates of the Fets, try putting in small resistors in series with them. If it is a switcher IC (with no access to the gates), try inserting a small resistor in series with the decoupling capacitor of the driver supply (usually a 0.1 pF capacitor attached to the Vdd pin and/or the bootstrap pin). Better still, pick an IC with less aggressive drive to start with. Because otherwise it will commit suicide sooner or later. 

Another major cost driver is any time requirement placed on the cleanup process. Time constraints generally require the system to operate more aggressively driving up the cost of the remedy. Aggressive electrokinetic operation often requires greater electrode placement densities (i.e. smaller distances between electrodes) and consequently increased current draw and power consumption. If time is not a primary... 

The annual review process was developed as a safety management tool. As your organization s safety manager, you need to be kept informed of any driver who becomes disqualified or is exhibiting unsafe or aggressive driving behavior (e.g. multiple speeding tickets and accidents). 

Not responding to aggressive driving with like behavior. Be professional at all times to avoid a bad situation. 

Two or more accidents might indicate a risk-taking or aggressive driving behavior. Where are you going... 

Risk to others, e.g. sexual disinhibition, aggression, driving (Ch.32), contact with children (e.g. babysitting). 

As previously mentioned, several driving cycles have been considered to evaluate the benefits of the advanced lithium-ion batteries on PHEVs. Table 4 summarizes the eleetrieal consumption on each PHEV vehicle on the first cycle of eaeh drive eyele. These results highlight the differences between the different drive eyeles. As expected, the standardized drive cycles (UDDS, HWFET and NEDC) require a lower electrical consumption than the cycles that are more real-world . The ATDS is the most aggressive drive eyele. 

One area of concern - and the focus of this chapter - is the relationship between a driver s personality and his or her aggressive driving behaviors. The model presented in Figure 9-2 is one coneeptual approach to describe the relationship between the two. 

In the remainder of this chapter I shall focus on the relationship between personality and aggressive driving, and illustrate how the various other factors that appear in the model above...

The most extensive survey to date of driver opinions on aggressive driving was conducted by Gallup in 2003, covering representative samples of drivers in 23 different countries. In this survey, 75 percent of the American drivers, and 80 percent of the European and Australian drivers believed that the aggressiveness of drivers has increased over the past few years .

Two techniques have been used to measure aggressive driving observations and questionnaire-based self-reports. Obviously observations of specific aggressive behaviors are more valid and objective than self-reports, but tiiey are more difficult to conduct. Consequently we must rely on both behavioral observations and questionnaires to understand aggressive driving. 

Questionnaire-based measures of aggressive driving. The rationale behind traffic laws and regulations is that the transportation system is just that a system. Its tolerance - from the perspective of expected driver behavior - is defined by the list of traffic violations or infringements. It is also implicitly assumed that drivers v/ho commit many traffic violations are more likely to be involved in crashes than those o do not. This assumption has partial validity from studies that examined die relationship between violations and crashes, though die strength of the relationship varies as a fimction of the violations studied (Cooper, 1997).
