Silver fluoride is commercially available from Advance Research Chemicals, Inc., Aldrich Chemicals, Cerac Corp., Johnson/Matthey, PCR, Atochem, and other sources in the United States. The U.S. price of silver fluoride in 1993 was 1000— 1400/kg and the total U.S. consumption was less than 200 kg/yr.

While LiAsF6 is produced by Advance Research Chemicals, Inc. only. 

Supports employed for the preparation of catalysts were styrene-divi-nylbenzene copolymer (SDB) purchased from Aldrich and fluorinated carbons FCIO, FC28, and FC65 (fluorine content 10, 28, and 65 wt.%, respectively) obtained from Advanced Research Chemicals, Inc. (USA). Moreover, a commercial catalyst from Degussa - 1% Pt supported on active carbon (Pt/C) was used for the sake of comparison. Surface areas of the supports, measured by low-temperature nitrogen adsorption on an ASAP 2010 sorptometer(Micromeritics) were 1172 m7g for SDB and 178, 173, and 366 m /g for FCIO, FC28, and FC65, respectively.
