Adjusted availability

If the installed chattering valve can handle it, simply lengthening the blowdown settings beyond the pressure loss values is an option, but only if there is sufficient blowdown adjustment available on the valve. [Pg.144]

All higher tier penalties are in the same category for the nature of the violation, and so the nature can be disregarded when calculating the gravity based penalties. The AHERA ERR classifies each violation into suigeneris circumstance levels and extent categories. Both upward and downward adjustments maybe made, consistent with the adjustments available to LEAs. [Pg.608]

Adjusted Availability Amount of time that a wind turbine is usable, eliminating time when the turbine is out of operation for various reasons. [Pg.1969]

Two generally accepted models for the vapor phase were discussed in Chapter 3 and one particular model for the liquid phase (UNIQUAC) was discussed in Chapter 4. Unfortunately, these, and all other presently available models, are only approximate when used to calculate equilibrium properties of dense fluid mixtures. Therefore, any such model must contain a number of adjustable parameters, which can only be obtained from experimental measurements. The predictions of the model may be sensitive to the values selected for model parameters, and the data available may contain significant measurement errors. Thus, it is of major importance that serious consideration be given to the proper treatment of experimental measurements for mixtures to obtain the most appropriate values for parameters in models such as UNIQUAC. [Pg.96]

In practice, however, it is recommended to adjust the coefficient m, in order to obtain either the experimental vapor pressure curve or the normal boiling point. The function f T ) proposed by Soave can be improved if accurate experimental values for vapor pressure are available or if it is desired that the Soave equation produce values estimated by another correlation. [Pg.156]

Once production commences, data such as reservoir pressure, cumulative production, GOR, water cut and fluid contact movement are collected, and may be used to history match the simulation model. This entails adjusting the reservoir model to fit the observed data. The updated model may then be used for a more accurate prediction of future performance. This procedure is cyclic, and a full field reservoir simulation model will be updated whenever a significant amount of new data becomes available (say, every two to five years). [Pg.206]

Beside all technical reasons the big advantage of a pneumatic test is, that the steam drums can remain within the line because first we have no additional load for the bearing and only small adjustments (for the connection with the pressurisation unit and the tightening of the man ways for the applied low temperature gas test) have to be done to make the drum ready for a pneumatic loading. The pressurised air is available in every paper mill and even if the maximum pressure does not fit, the use of a compressor or pressure bottles produce no problems. [Pg.32]

Minimum exposure times must be observed in order to reach the requisite S/N ratio. As per EN 1435 and EN 584-1, for the different ranges of utilization (energy, wall thickness), definite film elasses are prescribed. They are characterized by the minimum gradient-to-noise ratios. Based on this, one can calculate the minimum values for the S/N ratio based on the IP systems. The exposure time and the device parameter sensitivity and dynamics (latitude) must be adjusted accordingly, with an availability of an at least 12 bit system for the digitalization. [Pg.474]

The main task of the non-destructive testing is availability of objective and reliable information about the object being examined in assessment of its quality. Calibration of NDT equipment before the testing realization, adjustment of... [Pg.958]

Quaternary Ga In j.As jPj, grown on InP is of major importance to fibre-optic communications. In quaternary compounds, both the gap and the lattice constant can be tailored by changing the chemical composition. In thick layers, in order to avoid the generation of strain-induced defects, care must be taken in adjusting the ratio of x and v to maintain the lattice-matched composition x = 2.2v. The available gaps range from 1.34 eV in InP to -0.75 eV in... [Pg.2880]

A detailed examination of LN behavior is available [88] for the blocked alanine model, the proteins BPTI and lysozyme, and a large water system, compared to reference Langevin trajectories, in terms of energetic, geometric, and dynamic behavior. The middle timestep in LN can be considered an adjustable quantity (when force splitting is used), whose value does not significantly affect performance but does affect accuracy with respect to the reference trajectories. For example, we have used Atm = 3 fs for the proteins in vacuum, but 1 fs for the water system, where librational motions are rapid. [Pg.253]

Additionally to and a third adjustable parameter a was introduced. For a-values between 14 and 15, a form very similar to the Lennard-Jones [12-6] potential can be obtained. The Buckingham type of potential has the disadvantage that it becomes attractive for very short interatomic distances. A Morse potential may also be used to model van der Waals interactions in a PEF, assuming that an adapted parameter set is available. [Pg.347]

In Gunn and King s work only part of the experimental data is available as a check on the form of the dusty gas flux relations the remainder is absorbed in determining the values of the three adjustable parameters K, and In an interesting parallel investigation, Remick and... [Pg.95]

A measurement of particle moisture content will normally be taken at the exit of the dryer. This allows the process operators to make such adjustments as may be needed to maintain moisture within the desired range. Various instmments are used, none of which are entirely satisfactory, and periodic hand samples are used in some mills. Considering the importance of moisture sensing and control at the dryers, it is unfortunate that a truly efficient, consistent, and accurate sensing system is not yet available to the industry. The primary reasons for the difficulty of measuring moisture at the dryer exit are the extreme and adverse conditions of heat, dust, and moisture present at this location. [Pg.391]

There is extensive Hterature on nitrophosphates (65,66). A description of the Norsk Hydo nitrophosphate process, ie, using calcium adjustment by crystallization of calcium nitrate, emphasizing the environmental advantages is also available (64). [Pg.231]
