Daescher [87] describes a method using a set of tared sieves mounted on a special funnel held in a filter flask. 1 to 3 g of powder are placed on the top sieve and washed through each sieve in turn with a suitable polar liquid or hydrocarbon containing a trace of dispersant. At the same time, alternate pulses of pressure and suction are applied to the filter flask. This pulsating action orientates the particles in such a way as to speed up the sieving action. A full analysis can be completed in less than an hour. 

Contractor safety orientation is another critical step in ensuring that contractor employees understand hazards related to the job, know site safety practices and rules, and are familiar with local emergency practices related to the site. The Bohme s disc method for petrochemical estimation of rocks now used appears to be equivalent to the dynamic abrasion method only for monolithic, monomineral rocks. For rocks softer than silica or those composed of minerals of distinct hardness, porous or partially weathered, no correlation is found between Bohme s method and Vickers hardness or any other hardness, and abrasive action on a surface 42-49 cm2 in area does not allow estimation of the structural and textural specificity of orientations in the rock under test.

Different methods are used. An online ordinary common blown or cast film line uses a machine direction orienter (MDO) on the front end of biaxially oriented film heated chamber extrusion line. If only the machine direction is to be stretched, a series of precision controlled heated rolls can be used. Film is fed through a series of rolls where it is sequentially heated, drawn around rolls that increase in rotational speed providing the stretching action, annealed around larger diameter roll(s), and cooled on a final roll(s).
