Functions acceptable

The dramatic shift in consumer understanding and readiness to accept functional foods for health care means that clinically efficacious rice bran products can be introduced to the functional food market. Efficient marketing strategies through healthcare professionals need to be developed if rice bran products are to reach their target population. 

Considerably better agreement with the observed stress-strain relationships has been obtained through the use of empirical equations first proposed by Mooney and subsequently generalized by Rivlin. Pathways Analysis (table 7.1) contains a large set of manually curated gene and protein interactions, together with multiple viewers to display various aspects of the interactions. Both canonical pathways (i.e., generally accepted functional units) and arbitrary interaction networks can be displayed, and links to annotation data and to literature citations are accessible from the viewers. 

Some enzymes require a coenzyme to facilitate the reaction. The apoenzyme binds the coenzyme and then the substrate. The coenzyme is a part of the catalytic domain and will either donate or accept functional groups, allowing the reaction to occur. Once the product is formed, both the product and the coenzyme are released. 

Thus the general sequence lists offer all posssible sequences within their defined limits of self-consistency and maximum overlap. The number of sequences so obtained will depend on the nature of the particular synthons, but often too many sequences are produced and further restrictive conditions must be applied to narrow the selection.
