The first syllable of every prefix is accented to assure that the prefix will retain its identity. Pronunciation of kilometer places the accent on the first syllable, not the second.

Asian restaurants, with the help of people like Ms. Kim, who is Korean, are creating Asian cocktails as specialty drinks that showcase the house style, starting at the bar. The popularity of Asian accents in international cooking is cracking open cocktail menus, too.

The development of monoalkyl phosphate as a low-skin-irritating anionic surfactant is accented in a review with 30 references on monoalkyl phosphate salts, including surface-active properties, cutaneous effects, and applications to paste- and liquid-type skin cleansers, and also on phosphorylation reactions from the viewpoint of industrial production [26]. Robain is I I and has recently moved to live in this country with his parents and younger brother. His English is steadily improving but he still has a noticeable accent and sometimes has difficulty making himself understood. In the last two decades we have witnessed in photocatalysis, as a science, a continuous shift from phenomenological approaches to studies at the molecular level. To understand the method of steepest accent, consider a hiker who wishes to reach the summit of a volcanic island (assumed unimodal) by taking the shortest path. The shortest path is the steepest. Suppose our hiker is a mathematician, and rather than use his eyesight he decides to determine mathematically the best direction in which to proceed. Further, he knows that if he goes 20 ft to the north of his current position he will rise 20 ft and if he goes 20 ft to the east he will fall 10 ft. If the surface were a plane, he could approximate it by the following equation ... 

The abundance ratios found in the photospheres of our target stars are imprints of the explosions of the first SNe II or even more massive stars. At very low metallicities there is a reasonable hope that the SNe which have polluted the environment were themselves primordial objects. On olefin metathesis, the article states How the organometallic complexes affect the reaction is just now becoming well understood. In our review, the accent has been on aspects of olefin metathesis which are not well understood, with the hope that this will stimulate new and original work related to this remarkable reaction.

The last syllable of the word is accented and that syllable ends in an single vowel followed by a single consonant (words with only one syllable are always accented). Stop becomes stopping, stopped, stoppage, or stopper because stop has only one syllable (so it is accented), and it ends in a single consonant preceded by a single vowel.
