ABCB

The breakers (OCBs, MOCBs, ABCBs, SF and VCBs) for HT and ACBs and MCCBs for LT systems are devices that have a tripping time of more than a cycle on fault. The tripping time can vary from 1 cycle (20 ms) to 5-6 cycles (100-120 ms for 50 Hz systems), depending upon the type of interrupter as discussed in Chapter 19 and noted in Table 19.1. [Pg.364]

This practice is usually adopted in oil circuit breakers (BOCBs and MOCBs). In air blast circuit breakers (ABCBs), and SF(, circuit breakers, a resistance is connected in shunt across the contact gap. such that R is introduced in the circuit during the making and interrupting processes only. [Pg.561]

Today, the term solid electrolyte or fast ionic conductor or, sometimes, superionic conductor is used to describe solid materials whose conductivity is wholly due to ionic displacement. Mixed conductors exhibit both ionic and electronic conductivity. Solid electrolytes range from hard, refractory materials, such as 8 mol% Y2C>3-stabilized Zr02(YSZ) or sodium fT-AbCb (NaAluOn), to soft proton-exchange polymeric membranes such as Du Pont s Nafion and include compounds that are stoichiometric (Agl), non-stoichiometric (sodium J3"-A12C>3) or doped (YSZ). The preparation, properties, and some applications of solid electrolytes have been discussed in a number of books2 5 and reviews.6,7 The main commercial application of solid electrolytes is in gas sensors.8,9 Another emerging application is in solid oxide fuel cells.4,5,1, n... [Pg.91]

The electrochemically induced creation of the Pt(lll)-(12xl2)-Na adlayer, manifest by STM at low Na coverages, is strongly corroborated by the corresponding catalyst potential Uwr and work function O response to galvanostatic transients in electrochemical promotion experiments utilizing polycrystalline Pt films exposed to air and deposited on (T -AbCb. 3637 Early exploratory STM studies had shown that the surface of these films is largely composed of low Miller index Pt(lll) planes.5... [Pg.264]

Tri- and higher block copolymers, such as ABA, ABC, ABCB, can be synthesized by a continuation of the processes with the successive additions of the appropriate monomers. A symmetric block copolymer such as ABA or CABAC can be made efficiently by using a difunctional initiator, such as, a, a-dichloro-p-xylene or dimethyl 2,6-dibromoheptanedioate, instead of the monofunctional initiator. For the ABA block copolymer only two, instead of three, monomer charges are needed ... [Pg.323]

The anions, on the other hand, determine to a large extent the chemical properties of the system. For example, the main anions present in chloroaluminate ionic liquid systems such as (emim)Cl-AlCl3 are CT, which is a Lewis base (AICI4) , which is neither acidic nor basic and the Lewis acid (AbCb). The concentration of each anion, and therefore the Lewis acidity of the system, varies depending on the relative amounts of AICI3 and (emim)Cl added to the system. [Pg.169]

Following Henry s gas law relationship, as the pressure of the gas increases, the solubility increases in direct ratio. Doubling the pressure of C02 doubles the solubility. Charts such as the ABCB Gas Volume Test Charts indicate the gas volumes of C02 dissolved in water at different pressures and temperatures. The charts are based on the solubility of C02 in water and the absence of other gases. Using these charts for sparkling wine and not correcting for the presence of other gases can lead to substantial error. [Pg.89]
