Here is a model of a 4-by-l multiplexer circuit. In this case, a bit-select in a continuous assignment statement has been used to model the combinational logic.

Section 4.2 has illustrated a number of different ways in which a simple multiplexer can be designed in VHDL. Not all of these approaches are recommended for such a circuit, but die nature of the example has allowed a number of concurrent and sequential language statements to be introduced, not least various Signal assignment statements and the Case and If statements. For structural style architectures, a number of different techniques that allow components to be used in a design have also been demonstrated. 

The ideal assay system for HTS would include automated manipulation of single wells and each should be tested for a variety of activities simultaneously. One of the main challenges is to develop a simple assay sensitive enough to pick up enzyme activities that might be below their optimal level under the assay conditions. Nowadays novel colorimetric, luminescence, and fluorescence methods have been established in HTS with automated multiplex compound testing (typically 10-20 compounds per well) (Winson, 1997). 

PubMatrix is a simple way to rapidly and systematically compare any list of terms against any other list of terms in PubMed. It reports back the frequency of co-occurrence between all pairwise comparisons between the two lists as a matrix table. It allows the user to build up tables of words in the context of experiments. This is useful for analyzing combinatorial datasets such as cDNA microarrays, genomic, proteomic, or other multiplex comparisons. 

Multiplexed in vivo imaging is one of the important successful achievements of SERS-based assay technology in bio-related fields. Its medical application can serve as a simple and cheap diagnostic tool supporting traditional medical services such as diagnosis of cancers.

The spray head configuration is an interesting aspect of EHDA. The nozzle varies from a simple hypodermic needle of different diameters to highly technologically advanced multiplex nozzles (Figure 22.8). The coaxial needle shown increases the number of centered nozzles to four and is mainly used to fabricate multilayer spheres. In coaxial setups, the most commonly used is the coaxial two-capillary nozzle used to fabricate core-shell spheres (capsules). The inner needle is supplied by a solution of active substance and the outer needle is filled with shell material.In this process, parameters are used as adjusting switches to control the diameter of the capsules, thickness of the shell, and number of inner cores. The two solvents used in the coaxial setup are immiscible and wettable, and the inner one has a higher surface tension. 

It is a simple matter to multiplex frequencies over the whole frequency range of 20-100 kHz and under such conditions the peaks in e" are shifted to higher temperatures as the frequency is increased. A further option allows data to be obtained in the frequency plane under isothermal conditions.
