A parasiticus NRRL

Tests of the effect of ammonium carbonate on the prevention of mold growth and aflatoxin elaboration were done in static cultures using moistened rice or whole almond kernels as substrates and were inoculated with A. parasiticus NRRL 2999. A pellet of about 1/2 g ammonium carbonate was added one day after inoculation to each flask containing about 20 g of the inoculated substrate moistened with about 10 ml H2O containing mineral supplement. Each substrate was tested in 10 incubations in 250 ml Erlenmeyer flasks. The incubated substrates were sampled one week after inoculation to check for presence of aflatoxin. [Pg.117]

A. flavus (ATCC 155A8, NRRL 3251) and A. parasiticus (NRRL 2999), toxigenic isolates, have produced detectable levels of aflatoxin (AFBj ) and aflatoxin (AFG ). A. flavus (ATCC 15548) cultures... [Pg.151]

Aspersitin (855) is a fungal metabolite of Aspergillus parasiticus NRRL 3260. This metabolite was synthesized successfully by Btichi and coworkers . The key compound (856), prepared from dimethylphloroglucinol in 5 steps, was treated with Pb(OAc)4 in AcOH to afford the corresponding o-quinol acetate 857 in 93% yield. Further treatment of 857 with NFLjOH-MeOH provided two 1 1 diastereomers of 855. [Pg.1327]

Table 3 summarizes the recoveries of AFTs from agro-economic plants which had been both inoculated and incubated with mycelia from either A. flavus ATCC 15548 or parasiticus NRRL 2999 except for cocoa which was both inoculated and incubated with flavus NRRL 3251 mycelia. The data within this Table, which were arranged according to the year that they were reported, indicate that agro-economic plants vary with respect to their abilities to produce both AFB and AFG with the fungal species employed. Because russet potato halves were both inoculated and... [Pg.179]
