In the area of process monitoring TLC has been used for the study of the thermal decomposition of zinc di-isopropyl dithiophosphate (antiwear additive in lubricating oils) [458]. TLC analysis has been reported as a quality control tool for analysis of dispersing agents (alkylsalicylates, thioalkylphenolates), AOs (dithiophosphates, dialkyldithiophosphates) and their intermediates in lubricating oil (UV detection,... [Pg.228]

Chisholm et al. synthesized organozinc compounds with bulky biphenolates as catalysts for the ring-opening polymerization of lactides.196 The protonolysis of diethyzinc by the biphenols, in the presence of diisopropylmethanol, afforded the polycyclic, trimetallic zinc-di(ethylzinc) pre-catalyst 135, which polymerizes /m -lactide to polylactide, enriched in isi- and. sir-tetrads (Scheme 85). [Pg.369]

Zinc Di-arsenide, ZnAs2, is prepared by heating zinc and arsenic together in suitable proportions. It is grey in colour and of hardness approximately 3. It dissolves in acids with evolution of arsine.2... [Pg.78]

Aqueous zinc nitrate similarly treated gave the colorless crystalline bis (triaminopropane) zinc di-iodide (X) (20). An aqueous solution of sodium tetrachloroplatinate(II), Na2[PtCl4], when treated with two equivalents of the triamine, heated until clear, and then concentrated and added to aqueous sodium bromide and iodide gave the colorless bis(triamino-propane)-platinum(II) dibromide (XI X = Br), m.p. 270-271°C., and the di-iodide (XI X = I), m.p. 266-267°C., respectively. The fact that in these salts (which were sufficiently stable for recrystallization from hot water) the divalent platinum was showing the exceptional coordination number of 6—i.e., that it was coordinated to all six amino groups of the two triamine molecules, was shown by the addition of the dibromide to an excess of sodium picrate, both in cold aqueous solution, whereby only the dipicrate (XI X = C6H2N3O7) was precipitated had any amino groups remained uncoordinated, they also would have formed picrates (1928) (19). [Pg.122]

Zinc di-isopropyl is a mobile liquid, fuming strongly in air and readily oxidised to zinc di-isopropylate, Zn(OC3H7)2. It boils with some decomposition at 135° to 137° C., but without decomposition at 94° to 98° C. at 40 mm. It inflames when a large surface is exposed to the atmos])here. [Pg.24]

Zinc di-isobutyl, Zn(C4Hg)2, be prepared by the following methods —... [Pg.24]

Zinc di-isobutyl is a liquid, B.pt. 165° to IGT Tl., less readily oxidised than zinc dipropyl. It reacts vigorously with trihalides of phosphorus and arsenic, yielding corresponding phosphines and arsines. With acetaldehyde it forms principally ethyl alcohol, but also a little isobutyl alcohol, and with isovaleryl chloride it gives di-isobutyl ketone. ... [Pg.25]

Zinc di-isoamyl, Zn(CgHi3 )2, is prepared either by heating iso-amyl iodide and zinc at 180° C. or by heating mercury di-isoamyl and zinc in a sealed tube at 130° C. It is a liquid, fuming in air and boiling at 220° C. and has a density of 1 022 at 0° C. With acetaldehyde it forms methylisoamyl carbinol, isoamyl alcohol, and ethyl alcohol. ... [Pg.25]
