World Wide Web Online Resources

Any listing of World Wide Web online resources becomes obsolete and incomplete as soon as it is written down. Sites come and go daily, probably hourly or by the millisecond. Two web-based lists of lists that might be helpful are found at http //www.chem.ucla.edu/VL/InfoRes.html (a list of information resources for biologists and chemists) and http //www.chem.ucla.edu/ VL/Commercial.html (a list of WWW Chemistry Sites at Commercial Organizations). [Pg.181]

This introduction to computer hardware and software provides a snapshot of some systems available in late 2006. The brief survey of some online resources should prove useful to students and researchers. Of all the fields one could address in this short text, those of computer hardware, software, and online resources will be the one most quickly outdated. Fortunately, updates are readily available through a search of the World Wide Web. [Pg.185]

Welcome to O fflLl, Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man. This database is a catalog of human genes and genetic disorders authored and edited by Dr. Victor A. McKusick and his colleagues at Johns Hopkins and elsewhere, and developed for the World Wide Web by NCBL the National Center for Biotechnology Information. The database contains textual information and references. It also contains copious links to MEDLINE and sequence records in the Entrez system, and links to additional related resources atNCBI and elsewhere. [Pg.500]

Information about Reviews in Computational Chemistry is available on the World Wide Web at http //chem.iupui.edu/rcc/rcc.html. Our web site includes the author and subject indexes of all volumes as a free online service. Color graphics and other material as adjuncts to the chapters are also available. A brief tutorial about the web can be found in Volume ITs appendix. That appendix and the one in Volume 7 provide links to suppliers of software and other resources of interest to practicing computational chemists. [Pg.532]

It is important for an engineer, or one preparing for entry into the profession, to develop the ability to address, in an ethical fashion, significant workplace problems that may involve difficult choices. For this purpose, the Online Ethics Center (OEC) for Engineering and Science (formerly the World Wide Web Ethics Center for Engineering and Science), was established in 1995 under a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). The Center, located at Case-Western Reserve University, provides very extensive educational resources, including more than 100 case studies, at the Web site ... [Pg.33]
