Workstations, enclosed

All exercises have been modeled with PHREEQC version 2.8.03. This latest version, available at the time of book printing, can be found on the enclosed CD (there are different versions of installation for Windows, Mac or Unix workstations). 

HTML documents may then be processed and displayed using a browser that runs on any number of computer platforms, from UNIX workstations down to cellular telephones. These documents are simple text files that can be created with WYSIWYG tools (such as Microsoft s FrontPage or Netscape s Composer) or even a simple text editor such as the Windows Notepad. HTML relies on tags, keywords enclosed in angle brackets, like , ,

, etc., to specify what type of content or formatting is intended. HTML standards are controlled by an organization called the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), and their website (http //www.w3.org/) has the most accurate and up-to-date information about HTML. 

In order to install and run the OPUS version 4.0 demo you will need a Pentium III nbsp class PC with the Microsoft WINDOWS NT 4.0, WINDOWS 2000 or WINDOWS XP platforms, but note that neither WINDOWS 95 nor WINDOWS 98 are suitable. It is recommended to use an 800 MHz (or higher) processor with at least 128 MB RAM base memory (256 MB recommended) and a hard disk. The demo version of the software and the spectra database are both stored on the CD-ROM enclosed. A corresponding CD-ROM drive is therefore required. Prior to starting the installation proeedure you should ensure that the operating system WINDOWS NT 4.0 with the Service Pack 6 or WINDOWS 2000 or WINDOWS XP is already installed on your computer. The minimum technical requirements for your OPUS workstation are summarized in Tab. 2.1. 

Redesign, substitute, enclose, replace equipment, tools, or workstation... 

Sensitive components and assembhes must be enclosed in conductive, static-shielding bags, boxes, or wraps when not being worked on, unless otherwise protected. ESD-sensitive items must be removed from protective enclosures only at static dissipative or antistatic workstations. 

With respect to noise control in mining, enclosed production processes and workstations, as mentioned above, are common. When enclosing a production process such as a crusher or a screen tower, noise levels in the surroimding plant areas are reduced however, levels inside the enclosure can be significantly increased. The design of an enclosed production process needs to consider minimizing the need for employees to enter the enclosure. Use of plastic or rubber screens is an effective method for reducing overall production noise levels.
