Working Administration

Hours and the arrangements for shift working Administration and technical staff on day shift Difficulty is often experienced when workers are shared between departments. Some information will not be documented but since employees are generally paid for attendance hours these are meticulously recorded. 

Several types of weapons-complex personnel may divert important knowledge about weapons facilities and pose a proliferation risk. In addition to scientists and engineers, skilled technicians, retirees, and former employees could provide important information about the facilities in which they work. Administrative and security personnel can also provide information on who to recruit or how to overcome physical safeguards.

From the Civil Works Administration, Ordnance received about 1,390,000, mostly for the pay of laborers... Though this labor force taken from the rolls of die unemployed was usually unaccustomed to Ordnance assignments and suffered many physical handicaps, it accomplished valuable work that must otherwise have been or left undone. 

Sept. 12, 1931, and subsequent orders and the whole project has been approved by the War Department under date October 20, 1933, by 15 Endorsement AG 600.12 FA 3-29-32 Misc. D. and has also been included as an item under the War Department Technical Construction Program submitted to the Public Works Administration. .. However should funds not be provided by the PWA for this project it is urged that it be included as a new project of the CWS for FY 1936. (National Archives RG 175 E-4 Box 2)... 

It is thus clear that the CCC, and the related Public Works Administration (PWA), were tapped for chemical ordnance disposal projects at Aberdeen, as indicated by MacFee and the supporting documentation. It is also clear that the leftover World War I District of Columbia chemical munitions were in a dangerous state by 1931. If CWM were stored at the AUES, they likewise should have been in a similar dangerous condition by 1935 and 1936 when MacFee would have most likely completed the burials as determined from the service dates of his supervisor.

After war service, Blanchard was a hydraulic engineer with the State of Illinois until 1930, and finally was both a eonsultant and with the US Publie Works Administration until retirement in 1956. He was a of the ASCE Illinois Seetion and published works in ASCE journals. 

The variables that affect in different ways the productivity in the maintenance projects are very diverse. The professionals in charge of the work administration must know which of them are positive and which are negative, to act on the latters to decrease or remove its effects. 

The introduction of a LIMS affects laboratory work. Administrative work will be done by computers instead of by hand, which requires a totally different ergonomics. The work becomes more abstract and interpersonal contacts, which are necessary for the exchange of experience and information, decrease. As LIMSs can only work in a structured order of events, there is no place for the personal touch . The master files of a LIMS contain the knowledge which had previously been only in the heads of the laboratory staff. This increases the transparency of work but on the other hand the importance of the employee decreases.
