Wood-grain

Plywood has essentiahy equal stability in both panel directions and is almost as stable as the parent wood in the direction of the wood grain. Strength properties in bending are roughly proportional in each panel direction to the amount of wood in those layers closest to the surface which are parahel to the wood grain direction. Thus as the number of phes increases, these bending properties become more equalized in both panel directions.

This is a one step economical process for selectively transferring a high quality image to a plastic product. A heated die transfers the pattern from selected transfer tape to a flat plastic surface. Lettering or decorative designs can be transferred in pigmented, wood grain, or metallic finishes. 

Metallics, wood grains or multicolor, depending on foil. Foil can be specially formulated (e.g., chemical resistance). 

Coatings and Surface Modifications. Probably the one application of photopolymer chemistry that has the most worldwide commercial value in terms of product sales is the use of photopolymer materials for curable coatings. Most of the wood paneling and less expensive furniture manufactured today utilize UV or electron-beam curable materials for decorative finishes (e.g. simulation of wood grain) and protective coatings. In addition, the surfaces of many commercially important materials (e.g. textile fibers and polyester films) are being modified by photopolymer processes. 

Other possible applications are clear coats in automotive interiors (dashboard instrument screen-printed and top coats for gloss control, interior vinyl clear coat with excellent mar resistance and low gloss, wood grain printing and top coats for interior laminates), on alloy wheels and wheel covers and under the hood parts, and UV curable paint over physical vapor deposition (PVD) surfaces of various parts. When making special effects (as examples, marble or wood-grain sheets) the principal components may be quite different in appearance but still must be compatible and capable of being combined.

Of image no. 12 he noted that the image itself, which is similar to the finest wood grain, demands for its presentation more attention than the previous images. The dropping on of the second liquid (the potassium hydroxide solution) had to occur after some delay and not immediately after the absorption of the previous drops, so that certain chemical processes had time to develop.
