One final detail with respect to this, the most important orbital, is that it is not quite perfectly nonbonding. Although C-l and C-3 are separated in space, they do interact slightly in ip2, as can be seen in the wire-mesh drawing of the nonlinear allyl system in Fig. 1.36, where the perspective allows one to see that the right hand... 

The materials of construction are usually stainless steel as well as specific other metals that will draw into wire, or crimp without cracking. The wire mesh types have been fabricated of some plastics such as Teflon , polypropylene, etc. however, the surface must be wettable by the liquid, or the efficiency will be poor, and performance data are needed to complete a good design. 

Air is drawn thru the pipe to the nozzle (1) air passes thru slot in the rotating nozzle (2) to clean the wire mesh (3). The sieve chamber is sealed by a plastic lid (5). The test material.is raised and fluidized in the space between the wire mesh and the lid (4), Suction is applied to pipe (6) to draw the particles thru the sieve openings... 

The fuel sample is cooled under the prescribed conditions and, at intervals of34°F (l°C),a vacuum of200 mm water gauge is applied to draw the fuel through a fine wire mesh filter. As the fuel cools below its cloud point, increasing amounts of wax crystals will be formed. These will cause the flow rate to decrease and eventually complete plugging of the filter will occur. 

A better picture, which we keep as a mental reservation when confronted with the conventional drawings, is the contour diagram. A better sense of the n overlap from two p orbitals is given in Fig. 1.24, where we see more clearly from the contours on the left that in the bonding combination there is an enhanced electron population between the nuclei, but that it is no longer directly on a line between the nuclei. The wire-mesh diagrams illustrate the shapes of the n and n orbitals with some sense of their 3D character. 

Internal demisters are expensive, have a high plugging tendency, and their sections may disintegrate. The author is familieir with one incident where chunks of wire mesh finm an internal demister tore loose and found their way to a draw pan above and to the bottom pump. For these reasons, they should only be installed in clean services experiencing entrainment problems that cannot be eliminated by alternate means. It is a good practice to install an internal demister only in the problem regions rather than above every tray in a column. In one case (278), it was foimd that demisters installed in the nonproblem regions did little to improve performance. 

When working with draw knives, adzes or similar cutting tools, use personal protective equipment such as wire mesh gloves, wrist guards, arm guards, and aprons or belly guards.
