Wave guide spectra

The term sulphur monoxide was originally applied (erroneously) to an equi-molecular mixture of S2O and SO2. The oxide SO is a short-lived radical produced, for example, by the combination of 0 atoms produced in an electric discharge with solid sulphur. By pumping the products rapidly through a wave-guide cell the microwave spectrum can be studied S—0, 1-48 A, p = 1-55D (compare SO2, 1-59D).( >... [Pg.580]

The new near infrared wave guide coupling technique can be used for the determination of the three dimensional refractive indices of films opaque in the visible region. This technique is appropriate for other electroactive polymer systems providing a window exists in the visible or near infrared spectrum where measurements can be made. Applying this technique to PANI films has clearly shown that spin coated films show some planar character in the thickness direction. Unidirectional stretching of freestanding spin-coated PANI film leads to increased orientation in the deformation direction, and conversion from a planar to a more uniaxial structure. Similar studies have been carried out on PANI films formed from NMP solutions.[ll]... [Pg.54]

FIGURE 8.9. The solid line peaking at 1.78 eV (1) describes the triplet continuous-wave (cw) absorption spectrum of hexaphenyl squares (2) represents the femtosecond pump/probe spectra at zero delay between pump and probe (solid line to guide the eye), (3) the polaronic absorption peaks at at 2.3 eY, and (4) the cw emission spectrum of peaks at roughly 2.9 eV. [Pg.216]

New spectrophotometers are designed around optical fibers with wide spectral ranges (0.2-1 or 3 pm) and modular. The spectrometer from Guided Wave is already used in process control (batch). However, its design with spectral scanning and a photomultiplier makes it more similar to an analytical instrument than to a unit for plant process control. It can be associated with twelve optically multiplexed channels. The DTC 1000 spectrophotometer [34] called Spectrofip (Photonetics Society) was recently developed for remote control of nuclear materials (0.4-0.95 pm) with a resolution of 0.6 nm. It is of the video spectrometer type with photodiode arrays (1728). A spectrum is obtained in 10 ms and the minimum time between each measurement is about 0.5 s. It is an ideal device for... [Pg.223]
