Warfarin with itraconazole

Significant drug interactions with theophylline [268], itraconazole [269], warfarin, yS-acetyldigoxin, ranitidine, probenecid and oral contraceptives have not been reported with moxifloxacin [12,237]. [Pg.352]

Antimicrobials. Aztreonam, cefamandole, chloramphenicol, ciprofloxacin, co-trimoxazole, erythromycin, fluconazole, itraconazole, ketoconazole, metronidazole, miconazole, ofloxacin and sulphonamides (including co-trimoxazole) increase anticoagulant effect by mechanisms that include interference with warfarin or vitamin K metabolism. Rifampicin and griseofulvin accelerate warfarin metabolism (enzyme induction) and reduce its effect. Intensive broad-spectrum antimicrobials, e.g. eradication regimens for Helicobacter pylori (see p. 630), may increase sensitivity to warfarin by reducing the intestinal flora that produce vitamin K. [Pg.572]

Decrease levels with CYP4S0 enzyme inducers DPH, PB. Increased levels with erythromycin, itraconazole, propoxyphene WA, Decreased effectiveness of DPH, VPA, warfarin, oral contiaceptivK. [Pg.43]

Drug interactions Cimetidine is a CYP450 inhibitor and can inhibit the metabolism of phenytoin, warfarin, and theophylline. Famotidine, nizatidine, and ranitidine are unlikely to cause clinically significant drug interactions. All antagonists have the potential to interact with other drugs that require gastric acid for absorption (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole). [Pg.98]

E Itraconazole. Imatinib is primarily metabolized by the CYP3A4 hepatic enzyme system. Drugs that may inhibit this enzyme (such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, erythromycin, clarithromycin, etc.) may impair clearance of imatinib and result in increased toxicity. Imatinib itself is also a fairly potent inhibitor of the CYP3A4 enzyme and may result in toxicity due to other drugs that are substrates for this enzyme (such as simvastatin, warfarin, benzodiazepines, etc.). The other medications iisted are uniikeiy to affect the function of 0 P3A4 or interact adversely with imatinib. [Pg.178]

An isolated report describes a very marked increase in the anticoagulant effects of warfarin, accompanied by bruising and bleeding, in a patient given itraconazole. Limited evidence su ests that itraconazole may increase the risk of over-anticoagulation with acenocoumarol or phenprocoumon. [Pg.388]

Orthostatic hypotension occurred when levosimendan was given with isosorbide mononitrate. The haemodynamic effects of levosimendan were not significantly altered by captopiil, carvedilol or other unnamed beta blockers, or felodipine. Levosimendan does not alter the effects of warfarin. Itraconazole does not alter the pharmacokinetics of levosimendan. Levosimendan appears not to interact adversely with alcohoL... [Pg.895]
