To extend these calculations to cylinders is more complicated, as both the position and orientation of a cylinder must be obtained. To do that we followed the sequence of operations used to position each cylinder, as shown in Fig. 32a, for particle 1, the lower front particle in the wall segment (note that wire frames of the previous positions are retained in each sketch for comparison). Similar sequences were available for each of the other particles in the wall segment model. [Pg.378]

The front wall is assumed to span vertically from foundation to roof. The design will be for a typical wall segment one fool wide. [Pg.20]

The rear wall is proportioned the same as the front and side walls, spanning vertically from foundation to roof. Because the highest loads are on the front wall, a rear wall analysis would only be. necessary to determine a net loading on the overall building. The analysis will be for a wall segment 1 foot wide. [Pg.21]

Because the solar effect is distributed around the vertical surface of the tank to a varying degree (the effect being strongest from the south, since the sun is in the south), select wall segments 30° apart and calculate each separately. In the G, equation, a will thus assume values ranging from —90° (facing due east) to +90° (due west) the northern half of the tank will be in shadow. Because the wall is vertical, <1/ = 90°. [Pg.259]

The four walls can be adequately observed anterior (A), septal (S), lateral (L) and inferior (I), represented by the inferobasal portion of the wall (segment 4 of Cerqueira statement) that bends upwards in this case (B). The infarction vector generated principally in segments 4 and 10 in case of very lean individuals (Figure 1.13C) it faces lead V3 and not V1 (line CD).
