Wagner distribution

Unlike the Wagner distribution, K(E ) cannot be rendered temperature-independent except in limiting cases where a 0 or 1. The Cole-Cole distribution, like the lognormal distribution, is symmetrical with respect to a central frequency or relaxation time. The distribution of time constants is plotted as a function of the variable s = log (r/tb) in Figure 2.1.5, and the complex plane plots for various values of a are given in Figure 2.1.6. [Pg.37]

The distribution of current (local rate of reaction) on an electrode surface is important in many appHcations. When surface overpotentials can also be neglected, the resulting current distribution is called primary. Primary current distributions depend on geometry only and are often highly nonuniform. If electrode kinetics is also considered, Laplace s equation stiU appHes but is subject to different boundary conditions. The resulting current distribution is called a secondary current distribution. Here, for linear kinetics the current distribution is characterized by the Wagner number, Wa, a dimensionless ratio of kinetic to ohmic resistance. [Pg.66]

Cyperus rotundus L. is a weedy species, native to India, but widely distributed in countries on the Pacific Rim and islands in the Pacific Basin. Commonly referred to as purple nut sedge, it has been known in the Hawaiian Islands since the middle of the nineteenth century. In addition to its weedy nature, the taxon has attracted attention because of the antifebrile activity of its rhizomes. Chemical studies have disclosed the presence of several sesquiterpene derivatives, some of which have been implicated in the plant s medicinal use (cyperene and cyperinerol) (Wagner et ah, 1990, p. 1399). Our interest in this species is the existence of several chemotypes with interesting patterns of occurrence involving Pacific Rim countries and several oceanic islands, including the Hawaiian Islands, islands in the southern Pacific, and the Philippines. [Pg.253]

If the rates of intersystem crossing vary with conformation, the problem of correlating photoproduct distributions and the relative abundances of equilibrated BR conformers is far more complex. Scaiano favors this view and theoretical considerations offer some support for it [262], However, Caldwell and co-workers [263] have collected inferential experimental evidence to the contrary. Wagner [264] has advanced the notion that bond formation and intersystem crossing are not discrete steps, but are, in fact, coupled in one process. The question remains unsettled but renders tentative any rationalization of the effects of confining media on Type II reactions offered by ourselves or others. [Pg.169]

For this purpose, a new type of "unified model atmospheres" has been developed at the Munich Observatory by R. Gabler (1986) and A. Wagner (1986) in cooperation with J. Puls, A. Pauldrach and R.P. Kudritzki. These NLTE model atmospheres are spherically extended, in radiative equilibrium, and include the density and velocity distribution of radiation driven winds. The spectra of H and He lines are then calcu-... [Pg.123]

Plasma protein binding of LSD is >80%. As the drug penetrates the CNS, it is concentrated in the visual brain areas and the limbic and reticular activating systems, correlating with perceived effects. LSD is also found in the liver, spleen, and lungs.5 The volume of distribution is reported to be low at 0.28 L/kg.1 Wagner et al.6 described a two-compartment open model for LSD with an elimination half-life of 3 h. [Pg.43]
