Viable intellectual property

Without good government, establishment of policies directed at promoting food production (rather than just commodity production), appropriate intellectual property policies that assure agricultural technology is publicly available, and fair international trade policies, a discovery that may help farmers and consumers around the world is useless. GE may help Burkina Faso, but only within the framework of a viable public sector that promotes the public good. 

Factors that influence the decision to offer a test include the local demand, the resources available to perform the test, the skills and interests of the personnel, particularly the laboratory director, the likelihood of the test being financially viable, and whether the test is, in whole or part, patented or has other intellectual property restrictions. 

Substantial progresses are made at INER in MEA, stack, and power system developments. Innovative inventions of the intellectual property/patents have been granted from Taiwan, Japan, the USA and European Union. Establishments of strong capability and firmed facilities both hardware and software will facilitate the industrial development on SOFC technology. Nevertheless, continuous improvements are required to make the SOFC become commercially viable with high reliability, longevity, and low cost. The conclusions are described as follows ... 

Intellectual capital must be recognized as the only viable property in the Knowledge Age. In this fast-paced era, the only competitive advantage — the only source of profitability and productivity any organization has — comes from robust, incremental innovations from individuals, both inside companies and in their partner organizations.
