Unsymmetrical tetraorganotin compounds

The treatment of organometallic compounds with appropriate haloorganostan-nanes affords unsymmetrical tetraorganotin compounds (eq (131)) [126]. By the use of Reformatsky reagents and metal enolates, a-trialkylstannyl esters and ketones are obtained, respectively. 

The nonfunctional unsymmetric tetraorganotin compounds have two to four alkyl, aryl or aralkyl groups linked to each tin atom. The compounds listed in Tables 100 and 101 are prepared by methods from the ensuing scheme.
