Federal agencies must have a safety and health program that meets the same standards as private employers. Although OSHA does not fine federal agencies, it does monitor federal agencies and respond to workers complaints. There is one exception to this the United States Postal Service (USPS) is covered by OSHA in the same way as private employers. [Pg.25]

The state of Alaska exercises safety and health jurisdiction over most private sector employers in the state, and over public sector employers other than the federal government.
