Ultrasonic spray combustion

Ultrasonic spray synthesis is also identified under the synonyms ultrasonic spray pyrolysis (USP) and ultrasonic spray combustion (USC). In the case liquid droplets are employed for material synthesis (as it is considered here) against the case of spray drying, salt-assisted USP or chemical aerosol flow synthesis (CAFS) have also been used.

Flame spray pyrolysis and ultrasonic spray combustion represent other methods leading to perovskites with comparable morphologies with those produced by solid-sohd reactions and solution combustion synthesis [23]. 

Spray pyrolysis methods are also commonly used including the flame-type method that can be used for mass production of cathode materials [71]. Other derivative methods include spray drying [72], ultrasonic spray [24], ultrasonic spray pyrolysis [73] spray pyrolysis associated with internal combustion-type [74]. Internal combustion type spray pyrolysis apparatus was used to prepare LNM cathode materials under the form of spherical particles with an average size of about 2 pm after calcination at 800 °C. The morphology of the particles changed from spherical to an irregular shape at temperatures higher than 900 °C [75].
