The powder X ray diffraction patterns were scanned in transmission technique with a GO-2000 diffractometer (Ital Structures, Riva del Garda, Italy) operating in the Seemann-Bohlin geometry and equipped with a quartz-curved crystal monochromator of the Johansson type aligned on the primary beam. The Cu-K i radiation (X 1.5406 A) was employed, and an instrumental 26 step of 0.1° every 10 s was selected. 

When no gap penalty is used then the Needleman-Wunsch alignment may contain a largt unrealistic number of gaps. The simplest type of gap penalty (other than not to have one) i to use a length-dependent scheme in which one assigns a fixed negative value for each insertio ... 

Crystalline tellurium has a silvery-white appearance, and when pure exhibits a metallic luster. It is brittle and easily pulverized. Amorphous tellurium is found by precipitating tellurium from a solution of telluric or tellurous acid. Whether this form is truly amorphous, or made of minute crystals, is open to question. Tellurium is a p-type semiconductor, and shows greater conductivity in certain directions, depending on alignment of the atoms. 

Step 8. The -type source and drain regions are created by As ion implantation. The As can penetrate the thin gate oxide, but not the thick field oxide or the polysihcon gate. The formation of the source and gate does not require a separate resist pattern, thus this technique is called self-aligning.
