A unique blend of volatiles like the ower scents in rose (Rosa spp.), jasmine Jasminum sambac), or tuberose Polianthes tuberosa). Such owers produce and immediately emit the volatiles by the epidermal layers of their petals (Bergougnoux et al., 2007). The flowers of the tuberose Polianthes lubeiosa are cultivated to a considerable extent in the South of France, and are principally used for the manufacture of concretes, pomades, and similar perfume materials. [Pg.94]

Tuberose absolute is obtained by solvent extraction, via the concrete, from the blossoms of Polianthes tuberosa L. (Agavaceae). The plants are cultivated in Egypt and India. Tuberose absolute was formerly produced in southern France by enfieurage. It is an orange to brown liquid with a sweet-narcotic blossom odor and is used in modern, flowery perfume compositions.
