Tris methane TATM

Abstract New applications of ID and 2D solid state (SS) NMR spectroscopy in structural studies of inclusion complexes (ICs) formed by organic host lattices (cyclodextrins, calixarenes, cyclophosphazenes, and fullerenes) are described. Each section of the review gives short characteristics of host molecules and recent applications of SS NMR. Less common systems, which are interesting as models for SS NMR studies, (bis[6-0,6-0 -(l,2 3,4-diiso-propylidene-a-D-galactopyranosyl) thiophosphoryl] disulfide (DGTD) and 1,2-dichloro-ethane/tris(5-acetyl-3-thienyl) methane (TATM)), are also discussed. [Pg.91]

Dichloroethane/tris(5-Acetyl-3-Thienyl) Methane (TATM)... [Pg.132]

Reviewing interesting systems which form inclusion compounds and are investigated by high resolution solid state NMR, in this section we present complexes of l,2-dichloroethane/tris(5-acetyl-3-thienyl) methane (TATM). TATM (Scheme 11) is a conformationally flexible tripoidal host molecule [85]. [Pg.132]

Various physicochemical characterisation techniques were used to study tris(5-acetyl-3-thienyl)methane (TATM) inclusion compounds with l, -di-chloroalkane guests (n = 1-10). Thermogravimetric analysis allowed to determine host-guest stoichiometric ratios. From the multiplicity of the host signals in the C CP MAS NMR spectrum, the number of host molecules in the asymmetric unit of each inclusion compound was determined. It was found that only 1,9-dichlorononane and 1,10-dichlorodecane form isostructural TATM inclusion compounds. The obtained results were compared with those for urea-carboxylic acid complexes. [Pg.276]
