Tripropyltin

It seems that this anionic exchange would be relevant also to explain interactions of trialkyl tin (TAT) compounds (TET, tripropyltin chloride, TBT chloride) with the mitochondria. The current view of this phenomenon is that these compounds, by exploiting the Cl and OH gradient in energized mitochondria, behave as electroneutral OH /Cl exchangers. The crucial point of this new mechanism is that TATs enter the mitochondria as lipophilic cations [RsSn (rV)] and not as electroneutral compounds. The influx is followed by extrusion of the TAT compounds as electroneutral hydroxy compounds RsSnOH. ... 

Helium MIP-MS is also a very sensitive detection system for organotin compounds, such as tetraethyltin (TET), tetrabutyltin (TBT), triethyltin bromide (TET-Br), tripropyltin chloride (TPT-C1), tributyltin chloride (TBT-C1), and others, separated by CGC [213]. Detection limits at sub-pg levels were achieved, and linear dynamic ranges of at least three orders of magnitude were obtained. 

These transient polymeric chains resulting from dipole-dipole interactions are responsible for the increase in solvent viscosity which is asymptotic above a certain concentration. The structure dependence of both solubility and viscosity in triorganotin compounds is known (1,2,3). For example, trimethyl and tripropyltin fluorides are insoluble in most organic solvents while the bulky trineophyltin fluoride (4) dissolves in many solvents but does not increase their viscosity.

Mikami and Takei (80) extracted tripropyltin(IV) with acetic, mono-chloroacetic, dichloroacetic, and formic acids in carbon tetrachloride. The partition constant of the extracted species, Pr3SnA (Pr = propyl A = CH3COO , CH2C1C00, and CHCl2COO ), increased with increasing chlorine substitution of acetic acid.

Photoexcited ketones react in the same way as alkoxyl radicals, and if, for example, a solution containing acetophenone and tripropyltin chloride is irradiated with UV light, the superimposed spectra of the propyl radical and the stannyloxyalkyl radical can be observed.89...
