TRIC ACID

Acid wash all glass, Teflon, and plastic vessels by soaking them in a nitric acid bath containing a 4 1 solution of watermi-tric acid. After acid soaking, rinse acid-washed items in deionized water, dry them, and store themin clean, covered cabinets. [Pg.281]

Two aspects of this work are noteworthy Firstly, the excellent induced diastereoselectivity results from a very remote inducing stereocenter (1,6-asymme-tric induction) and secondly, the asymmetric induction can be reversed by changing the Lewis acid. Thus, the sequence also allows the entrance into the unnatural L-series by performing the cycloaddition with the same substrates but in the presence of TMSOTf. [Pg.84]

Sanchez et al (1998) investigated the effects of i.v. (2.0mg/kg) and p.o. (6.6mg/kg) ranitidine on gastric acidity in young foals. Mean intragas-tric pH significantly increased for 5h after i.v. administration compared with baseline data. After p.o. administration, gastric pH significantly increased for up to 8 h. [Pg.100]

In the southern direction the Podzols are transferred into Podzoluvisols and Dis-tric Phaerozems. These soils have less acidity and less pronounced migration of various elements. [Pg.269]

Acid secretory tests remain the best research tools for investigating normal and abnormal gastric function and the best tests for evaluating the effective suppression of meal-stimulated gastric acid secretion, a mandatory test of the therapeutic effectiveness of antisecretory drugs. Measurement of 24-h intragas-tric pH, a new trend, has become increasingly easier... [Pg.1980]

Finally, enzymes can increase the efficiency of utilisation of nutrients in monogas-tric animals by releasing them for uptake from the small intestine rather than allowing fermentation in the hind gut, which results in products of lower value to the animal (e.g. volatile fatty acids). [Pg.602]

The content of free but)tric and caprylic acid as well as (Z)-3-hexenal rises when cream is whipped (Table 10.39). Pasteurization results in the formation of 2-acetyl-2-thiazoline in whipped cream and the content of (E,Z)-2,6-nonadienal is greatly increased. A model corresponding to Table 10.39 (without No. 12, 14, 17 and 20) approaches the aroma of whipped pasteurized cream and reproduces especially the "creamy" note. Maillard reaction products are also characteristic of the aroma of milk powder. The development of aroma defects during the storage of whole milk powder is due to products of lipid peroxidation, e. g., (Z)- and (E)-2-nonenal. [Pg.540]

In the catalytic cycle, a simplified version of which is shown in Scheme 5.72 for the acetate aldol addition of 246, the highly electrophilic silyl cation 251 plays a key role, as assumed by the authors. It forms from the reaction of tetrachlorosilane with the corresponding phosphoramide ((Me2N)3PO symbolizing the catalyst 235). When loaded with benzaldehyde, silicon enlarges its coordination sphere and adopts an octahedral geometry in 252. After the carbon-carbon bond has been established, cation 253 forms. It then decomposes to liberate phosphoramide 235, chlorotrialkylsilane, and the aldolate 254. By NMR studies, it was shown that the intermediate of this procedure is the tric/i/orosilyl-protected aldolate 254. This makes a substantial mechanistic difference to conventional Lewis acid-catalyzed Mukaiyama aldol protocols that deliver tri /Ay/silyl-protected aldolates. In accordance with the catalytic cycle shown in Scheme 5.72, tetrachlorosilane is consumed and therefore required to be used in stoichiometric amounts. Thus, the reaction is catalyzed by phosphoramides and mediated by tetrachlorosilane or, more generally, by Lewis base-activated Lewis acids [126]. [Pg.331]
