1.3.5- triazine Subject index

According to the triazine nomenclature, 5-azauracil is 2,4-dioxo-l,2,3,4-tetrahydro-l,3,5-triazine (2). The subject index of Chemical Abstracts prefers s-triazine-2,4(lH,3H)-dione. Furthermore, some authors use a name derived from the lactim structure, 2,4-dihydroxy-s-triazine (3). The numbering of the substituents is the same for all these types of nomenclature. [Pg.192]

There have been many developments in the chemistry of the 1,3,5-triazines since the comprehensive reviews of Smolin and Rapoport (59HC(13)1) and Modest (B-61MI22000, p.627). It is impossible to include all the vast range of 1,3,5-triazines reported in the literature 138 pages of the Compound Index in the Ninth Collective Index of Chemical Abstracts are dedicated to this system. This review will concentrate on the more important recent developments of 1,3,5-triazine chemistry, and reference will be made to previous reviews, or typical papers, to illustrate the better-known aspects of the subject. [Pg.459]

This year, following a consultation exercise involving members of the Editorial Board, and partly in the interest of getting the Volume published as soon as possible after the end of the year being reviewed, the Index is less comprehensive than formerly. It now includes only systematic heterocyclic ring system names. Thus, wherever a pyrrole is discussed, that would be indexed under pyrroles wherever pyrido[3,4-i]indoles are mentioned an indexed entry under that name will be found similarly aceanthryleno[l,2-e][l,2,4]triazines , azirines , 2f/-pyran-2-ones , 1,2,4-triazoles etc. etc. are listed. But, subjects like 4-ethyl-5-methylpyrrole , 5-acylazirines , 6-alkyl-2//-pyran-2-ones , 3-alkylamino-l,2,4-triazoles , are not listed as such in the Index. Diels-Alder reaction or Fleck coupling etc., are also not indexed. [Pg.484]

Apart from these indexes, the present volume contains four chapters spanning a wide range of heterocyclic chemistry. 1,5-Diazocines by Perlmutter, continues his coverage of important eight-membered heterocycles (cf. Azocines in Volume 31, and 1,4-Diazocines in Volume 45). Charushin, Alexeev, and Chupahkin from the Soviet Union, and Van der Plas from Holland cover reactions of 1,2,4-triazines with nucleophiles, a subject to which they bring much expertise. [Pg.348]
