Transition Metal Complexes of Cyclopentadienyl Ligands

The formation of mercury-silicon bonds has been observed in the reaction of the mercury halides HgCP, HgBr2 and Hg2Cl2 with decamethylsilicocene, Cp 2Si. The reaction products are a consequence on single or double insertion reactions. An example of a product is shown as 2.  

The synthesis and structural characterisation of Li[(C5H4)CH2CH2(TACN-PrS)], shown as 3, which is a lithium complex supported by a Cp/TACN-Prh ligand, has appeared.  

A new complex formed between endo-dicyclopentadiene and gold(I) chloride has been prepared by a substitution reaction in dichloromethane, whereby carbon monoxide in dissolved [AuCl(CO)] has been displaced by the endo-dicyclopentadiene ligand/-The first example of the use of the Hofmann/Fischer reagent cyclopentadienylindium(I) for carbon-carbon bond formation and the demonstration of a one-pot tandem addition/intramolecular Diels Alder reaction in aqueous media have been reported/ The synthesis and solid-state structures of two new beryllocenes have been reported. These are [Be(CsMe4H)2] and [Be(C5Mes)2], which are obtained in the metathesis reactions of the potassium salts of the cyclopentadienes with beryllium dichloride, the former at room temperature and the latter at elevated (115 °C) temperature.  

The question How Much Steric Crowding Is Possible in Tris(q -pentamethyl-cyclopentadienyl) Complexes has been posed in a paper which describes the synthesis and structure of (C5Me5)3UCl and (C5Mes)3UF. The former of these structures is shown as 4. This follows work published by the same research group on the formation of [ (C5Me5)3U(C8H8) 2 (CsHs)] from cyclooctatetraene and
